The much-awaited Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is set to be launched on 10 July 2020. However, Malaysia fans will have to wait a little longer as Indonesia will be the first the South East Asian country to receive the model.
The announcement was made by Kawasaki Indonesia through their YouTube channel. Details of the launch will be streamed “live” in this channel from the Sentul International Circuit from 4pm Malaysian time.
The main appeal of the ZX-25R is its DOHC, inline-Four, 250cc engine. Most fans welcome the howl of a four-cylinder engine rather than the uneven burble of a parallel-Twin. A four-cylinder engine could rev higher too, due to the four smaller pistons compared to two large ones. As such, the ZX-25R’s engine has been recently tested to produce 42 hp on a wheel dyno. That means it should be pushing out approximately 50 hp at the crank. Those figures put it on top of the current 250cc heap.
But it is not just about the powerplant for Kawasaki also threw many nice components such as Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Forks – Big Piston) adjustable forks, radially-mounted four-piston front brake calipers, power modes, KTRC traction control system, and KQS quickshifter.
Pricing is still up in the air at the moment.
